Applications & Reservations
How do I apply for a puppy or join your interest list?
Fill out our puppy application through our website. Once your application is approved, we’ll provide the next steps for reserving a puppy or joining our interest list.
How are puppies selected?
Puppy selection is based on availability and timing. We’re also happy to help families choose a puppy that may be a good fit for their home and preferences.
Pricing & Payments
How much does a puppy cost?
Pricing varies by breed and litter. Current pricing is listed on our website and may vary for future litters.
Is a deposit required to reserve a puppy?
Yes. After your application is approved, a deposit is required to reserve an available puppy or secure your place for a future litter. See our Puppy Deposit Policy for additional details.
Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from taking your reserved puppy, your deposit may be transferred once to a future litter, with a new puppy selected within one year. See our Puppy Deposit Policy for additional details.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due in full when your puppy goes home.
Puppy Selection & Going Home
When can my puppy come home?
Puppies may go home beginning at 8 weeks of age. Puppies must be picked up by 10 weeks of age, or within 14 days of the deposit being received, whichever occurs later, unless other arrangements have been approved in advance. See our Puppy Pickup Policy for additional details.
What should I have ready before bringing my puppy home?
We’ll provide you with our New Puppy Transition Guide to help you prepare for your puppy’s arrival, including what to have on hand, feeding, crate training, potty training, and tips for the first few weeks at home. What if I can’t pick up my puppy during the go-home window?
Please contact us as soon as possible. Extensions may be approved in advance at Storyside Kennels’ discretion. See our Puppy Pickup Policy for additional details about extended stays and pickup requirements.
What pickup and delivery options are available?
Pickup at Storyside Kennels in Cassville, Wisconsin is our standard option. We also offer several pickup and delivery options depending on your location, scheduling, and availability. Can someone else pick up my puppy for me?
If someone else will be picking up your puppy on your behalf, please contact us in advance so we can coordinate the handoff and make sure everything is ready.
Do you ship puppies?
We do not ship puppies through cargo or commercial pet-shipping services. We offer several pickup and delivery options, including pickup at Storyside Kennels, regional delivery, Chicago airport meet-up, and buyer-arranged flight nanny service.

When can I visit my puppy?
Yes. If you’re interested in visiting, please contact us to arrange a time. Visits are scheduled in advance so we can make sure someone is available to meet with you.
Health, Registration, & Care
What type of AKC registration do the puppies come with?
Our English Springer Spaniel puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration unless otherwise agreed upon. Limited Registration means the dog is registered with the AKC, but any offspring are not eligible for AKC registration.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes. We offer a health guarantee for each puppy covering certain congenital or genetic conditions. Please see our Health Guarantee for complete coverage, requirements, exclusions, and terms.
What vet care does each puppy receive before going home?
All puppies receive age-appropriate veterinary care before going home, including a wellness examination and vaccinations appropriate for their age. You’ll receive their available health and vaccination records when your puppy goes home.
What do you feed the puppies?
We feed Diamond Naturals Small & Medium Breed Puppy High Protein Chicken & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food. If you plan to switch foods, we recommend transitioning gradually to help avoid digestive upset.

Are the parent dogs health tested?
Yes. We use health and genetic testing to help inform our breeding decisions. Health-testing information for our current dams and sires can be found on our Meet Our Dogs page.
What is included with my puppy?
Each puppy goes home with a small bag of the food they are currently eating, their health and vaccination records, and other items to help make the transition to their new home easier.

Training & Puppy Development
What training and early development do puppies receive?
Our puppies receive age-appropriate early development and training designed to help prepare them for the transition to their new homes. This includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), sound exposure, potty-training foundations, crate introduction, regular handling, and age-appropriate socialization.

Are the puppies crate trained?
We begin introducing puppies to crates at approximately 4–5 weeks old, gradually helping them become comfortable resting and spending time in an enclosed space. Puppies are not expected to be fully crate trained when they go home, so families should plan to continue the process.

Are the puppies potty trained?
We begin potty-training foundations while puppies are still with us. Puppies learn to use a designated potty area separate from their sleeping and play areas, helping establish good habits before they go home. Because they are still very young, families should expect to continue house training after pickup.

What kind of socialization and exposure do the puppies receive?
Our puppies receive age-appropriate exposure to different sounds, surfaces, environments, handling, and everyday experiences as they grow. Our goal is to give them positive early experiences that help build confidence and prepare them for life with their new families.

Coats, Grooming, & Shedding
Do doodles shed?
Shedding varies by breed, coat type, and individual dog. English Springer Spaniels naturally shed, while shedding among Springerdoodles and Aussiedoodles can vary considerably depending on coat type and genetics. No puppy can be guaranteed to be completely non-shedding.
Are doodles hypoallergenic?
No dog is truly hypoallergenic. Some doodles may shed less and release less hair and dander into the environment, but individual reactions vary. We cannot guarantee that any puppy will be suitable for someone with dog allergies.
How much grooming do doodles need?
Grooming needs depend on coat type. Wavy and curly coats generally require more frequent brushing and professional grooming to help prevent mats, while straight coats are typically lower maintenance but may shed more. Regular nail trims, ear care, and basic coat maintenance are important for all coat types.

What breeds do you plan to have in the future?
We breed English Springer Spaniels, Springerdoodles, and Aussiedoodles. Our breeding plans vary throughout the year, and planned and upcoming litters are posted on our website as information becomes available.
How can I reserve a spot for a future litter?
Start by submitting our Puppy Application. Once your application is approved, you can reserve an available position for a planned future litter by placing the required reservation deposit.
